Year
\n2024 heralds very significant milestones for the IKO KYOKUSHINKAIKAN, as we
\nrecall the 30<\/span>th<\/sup> Memorial of the passing of Sosai Mastatsu Oyama,
\nand commemorate the 60<\/span>th<\/sup> anniversary of the establishment of
\nthe IKO KYOKUSHINKAIKAN. Ceremonies marking these events, were held on April
\n26, 2024, in Ikebukuro, Tokyo; the sacred birthplace of the IKO
\nKYOKUSHINKAIKAN.<\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nmemorial ceremony was conducted by Mitsumine Shrine Chief Priests, and observed
\nby Kancho Shokei Matsui, IKO executives, and many IKO Branch Chiefs and members
\nin attendance. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

After
\nthe memorial ceremony, the 60th<\/sup> anniversary reception party was
\nheld with approximately 500 guests. Many important guests were welcomed to the
\ncelebration, including World Karate Federation Honorary President Takashi
\nSasagawa. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the
\nclosing remarks, Kancho Matsui stated, “The 60th<\/sup> anniversary is
\na very important milestone. At 60th<\/sup> birthday (Kanreki), you are
\nconsidered to be reborn to start a new life. On behalf of the
\norganization, I extend my heartfelt gratitude and respect to the entire
\nworldwide membership, family, and friends, who continue to support our
\nendeavors. I look forward to working together as one, to further develop the
\nIKO KYOKUSHINKAIKAN towards the future, as we bring up the next generation,
\nthat will lead us to our 100th<\/sup> Anniversary!”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
