Aid to IKO Branches Suffering from the 3/11/11 Japan Earthquake and Tsunami

Dear IKO Branch Chiefs and Dojo Operators,

We’d like to thank you all for your kind donations
and messages of condolence and support for those affected by the Earthquake and
Tsunami here in Japan.
 Our Branch Chiefs and Members in the
worst hit areas of northeastern Japan
sent IKO Honbu many letters thanking us all for the outpouring of concern they
have received in the last few days.

We have contacted the Japanese Government offices
to find out what we can bring to assist the people in Iwate and Miyagi Prefectures
– the areas that suffered the most severe damage – and they advised us that, to
avoid confusion, those municipalities currently cannot accept individual
donated goods.  The Government is prioritizing
rescue and recovery efforts, and the delivery of gasoline and fuel to the
affected areas.

Under these circumstances, donations of food and
water will be difficult to deliver and might cause trouble to store and
preserve.  In order to make the donation
process simple, the IKO Kyokushinkaikan has set up the following bank account in
order to collect funds to help rebuild our affected IKO Branch schools in those
regions in the weeks to come.
